Phenomenon of Private Elementary Schools - New Trend in Education?

This diploma thesis deals with the situation of emerging private elementary schools in the Czech Republic. As this is a new phenomenon, only recognised in the past few years, there is little detailed evidence that would provide the necessary information about these schools; such as what kind of schools are registered and why they were created. This paper aim is to identify and describe the main types of these schools and understand their functions. The first part is to comprehend the shift in education and stress out the influence and role of new actors. This is achieved through providing the different perspectives on education and through description of supply and demand for education. This new phenomenon is also supported by the Theory of Exit, Voice & Loyalty which explains behaviour of private school's initiators and founders. The thesis also examines different authors' and publications' views on alternative and traditional schooling, private, public and non-public schools and the difficulties in comparison across different educational systems. The practical part and its research offers systematic and objective evaluation of the new schools being established and how they work. TITLE: Private and alternative schools in the Czech Republic SUMMARY: The thesis describes current status of private and alternative schools whereas private schools are considered as an alternative to the public school system as well. It tackles the specific aspects of alternative pedagogical programs, describes common and distinctive features and sees into the positives and negatives of the choice of alternative education for parents and pupils. The theoretical part focuses on private schools. It inquires into the qualitative difference between private and public schools and deals with the conditions of education for both pupils and teachers. Demand and supply on the market of secondary education in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis analyses demand and supply on the market of secondary education in the Czech Republic and it is focused on the differences between state and private schools. The thesis consist of the definition of technical terms, evolution and context of hitory of education, characterization of the specifics of marketing strategy and differences in the financing methods in state and private sector. Furthermore, the thesis includes statistic data of evolution of demand and supply of education. Practical part is focused on research at state and church grammar schools in the town of Kutná Hora and it includes interviews with the school headteachers and questionnaire-based research, which was conducted among pupils in the first year of high school studies.

Education under the roof of the European Union

This thesis is a response to current education reform in the Czech Republic. EU objective and their long-term goals will be defined in the introduction. The main objective of the thesis is comparison of two different educational systems, both of which are under control of the European Union. There are two countries selected for this paper, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Not only the educational systems, but also the method of financing is compared. The Czech educational system is entirely dependent on public funding for their educational system, while in Netherlands a significant part of the finances going to the educational system is covered by students themselves. Besides other things current issues in educational sector, which are faced by selected countries, will be discussed in the thesis as well. Two private schools were chosen for comparison to illustrate the situation of private education in the Czech Republic, University of Finances and Administration and The European Polytechnic Institute in Kunovice.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to prepare a business plan for the establishment of a private primary school and to determine the profitability of this project. The theoretical part describes the reasons for developing a business plan, what principles must be followed and the overall structure of the plan.The practical part introduces the business plan for private primary school based on the structure defined in the theoretical part. The plan focuses on the description of services offered, market analysis, marketing strategy, risk analysis and financial plan, which determines the net present value and profitability of the project.

Práce popisuje a srovnává soukromé školy se státními, hledá konkurenční výhody pro oblast v tomto podnikání.Práce hodnotí management a organizaci školy,popisuje její okolí,zabývá se obory studia a formami,vzdělávacím procesem, ale i finančním plánem a hospodařením školy.
